LODGING & LOCATION

Spacious decks invite guests outside to enjoy comfy chairs, the healing warmth of the hot tub, or the dancing flames of the fire table on a star-lit night. Backed by a forest green belt, Selah Glen offers a sense of sheltered seclusion. Quiet places on the property may be used for personal reflection. Nearby trails, under a canopy of moss-covered firs, cedars and alders, lead to beautiful views of towering mountains, verdant fields, and distant islands on a glassy sea.

Life is a journey along winding paths and through a variety of terrains. At Selah Glen, we welcome you regardless of where you find yourself on your journey. Our home, nestled in a beautiful setting, provides us with our own living space while also offering separate guest accommodations. Our three guest rooms provide a place of rest and renewal. Each room is comfortably furnished with a queen-size bed, sitting area, and writing desk. In the shared space (when other guests are present) is a lovely sitting room, a common bathroom, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a cedar-paneled sauna room.

Selah Glen rests on a quiet tree-lined street in the hills east of the small town of Mount Vernon, WA. Careful thought was given to choose a location for Selah Glen which is far enough from city life to embrace forest beauty and solitude, yet near enough for conveniences.

SIGHTSEEING

Mount Vernon, a small city in the midst of the beautiful Skagit Valley, has many possibilities for an afternoon of sight-seeing. Only 16 miles to the west, Anacortes, the gateway to the San Juan Islands, provides state parks, hiking trails, breath-taking vistas, and a quaint downtown area. Driving through the farmlands of the Skagit Valley shows off billowing clouds, towering distant mountains, broad fields, and lovely farm houses dating back a century. The area offers beauty in each season: flocks of snow geese and trumpeter swans winter in the fields; spring daffodils and tulips rival those of Holland; summer brings warmer temperatures in which to enjoy walks in shaded forests; and fall provides dazzling colors on a drive into the near-by Cascade Mountains.
